John Lewis has stated that he believes that Trump's presidency is illegitimate and that he will skip the inauguration ceremony on 20th January.

John Lewis has been a member of Congress for almost thirty years and stood next to Martin Luther King as they fought for Black American freedoms.

He has, in fact, received a fractured skull from the policy during one of the demonstrations. He is one of the most iconic black politicians alive today. It is little wonder then when he talks' people listen. He declared that he did not believe that Trump was elected fairly and that he had a big helping hand from the Russians and for that reason, he feels that the election was not valid.

Trump in real fashion responded on Twitter and claimed that John Lewis should be trying harder to help the inner cities rather than think about the presidency. "Lewis should spend more time helping and fixing his district, which is in terrible shape," said Trump on Twitter. "Not to mention crime infested rather than falsely complain about the election results. Talk-talk-talk- no action. Sad!"

John Lewis responded to the tweet from Trump in a more casual way and said that Trump had responded via Twitter, so there was no big deal.

But Lewis has also received a lot of backlash for commenting on the inauguration man insisting that he has lost his iconic status for illegitimacy a US president. But Lewis has stuck to his guns and is not budging on attending the inauguration and so are many people with only a few with only days to the ceremony confirming their inauguration.
